Dear Pastor and Supporting Friends, Revelation 3:8 “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name”. This past December we had one of the greatest victories on this Island and in Greece. For the first time ever a non Greek Orthodox Church and especially a Baptist church, was included in public festivities on the island of Zakynthos. The Lord has been working on this island. Our small 9-voice choir was invited by the mayor of Zakynthos town to take place at the “lighting of the tree” ceremony. For more than 10 days the radio and local Greek Newspapers talked about the “Bible Baptist Church”. We sang one evangelistic song in Greek and another in English along with some traditional Christmas carols. We sang before 300-400 people and about 9,000 more heard us via the speaker system that ran throughout the city. In addition, we were offered permission to sing in front of the city hall or in the square. What a tremendous victory! As I reflected on the events of that evening I had tears in my eyes and praise and thanksgiving in my heart. Another event that took place was on December 18th. It was a fundraiser for a heart pump that will be donated to the hospital; we were invited to sing there also. Around 200 people were present. Closing the events was our Christmas Carol service, which was held this year at a hotel located in the main town on December 21st. We had a joint English/Greek service with 150 in attendance, 100 of them were first time visitors. These are numbers that we have not seen before. I am still praising the Lord for that! Every one received a New Testament, tracts and a salvation message that evening. Through these events we had the opportunity to come closer to the people of Zakynthos and to give the gospel to hundreds of them. Also, the Lord opened another door for me to write in the local English Newspaper every week! Pray that I will be able to write in the Greek one as well. (We praise God for even though we are small in strength God has opened this door in front of us and we are walking through it.)
Requests and needs That the Lord will work in the hearts of the ones that heard For the new souls that the Lord has added to his Church here.
